KHSADA/KHSCA Garnis Martin Outstanding Coach
Athletic Directors are encouraged to nominate coaches from their school whose contributions to interscholastic across the Commonwealth go above and beyond with their knowledge of the game, rapport with his/her teams, positive conduct both on and off the field, community involvement, positive rapport with officials and other coaches and demonstrated a commitment to the high school student’s experience in interscholastic athletics. Once nominated, nominees remain in consideration for a period of three years.

Dr. Rudy J Ellis Distinguished Service Award
Distinguished Service Awards are presented to individuals, groups or businesses outside the field of athletic administration in recognition or their service and/or support of interscholastic athletics within their community and beyond.

Jim Watkins Award of Excellence
The Jim Watkins Award of Excellence recognizes an individual whose loyalty, dedication, and service to the KHSADA and contributions to the profession which represents excellence in the field of athletic administration. Once nominated, nominees remain in consideration for a period of three years.
Athletic Directors are encouraged to nominate deserving peers and submit them to the KHSADA Executive committee for consideration.

2021 All-Resilient Team
The “All-Resilient Team” celebrates high school male and female student-athletes who have overcome adversity on their path to success. This might be injury, a disability, a difficult family or health circumstance; something that puts an obstacle in their path that might derail someone who is less resilient. Preference is given to seniors! The application is attached; deadline is extended to February 19, 2021.
The 2021 NIAAA / KHSADA Scholarship
The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and the KY High School Athletic Directors Association offers this scholarship opportunity. The application is attached; deadline is February 26, 2021.
KY High School Coaches Association
The KHSCA will be awarding 1-0 - $1,000 scholarships to our 2020-2021 KHSCA members senior son/daughter. Go to www.khsca.org for the scholarship application. The application must be postmarked before March 1, 2021 (which is a Monday).
Angela Passafiume, Athletic Director at Assumption High School
The Kentucky High School Athletic Directors’ Association (KHSADA) is pleased to announce Angela Passafiume, Athletic Director at Assumption High School, as the 2020 KHSADA’s Athletic Director of the Year.
Angela’s programs have won five National Titles and 21 State Titles. She is a member of the NIAAA, KHSADA, & Metro Area AD’s. She has served on the NFHS Field Hockey Rules Committee, NFHS Officials Committee, KHSAA Track and Field Advisory Committee, KHSAA Basketball Advisory Committee, KHSAA Bowling Advisory Committee and the University of Louisville SPAD Advisory Committee. She is a constant promoter in encouraging young people to become sports officials and is an advocate for Assigners and Officials in all sports. Angela has been a speaker at the sport administration and officiating classes at the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University and is the founder of the annual Pink and White Game in Louisville where four catholic high schools in her area come together for a sellout event. This event will celebrate its 13th year and now has raised and donated over $318,000 to breast cancer awareness. She has helped organize and conduct numerous Middle and Elementary school track meets and served as a retreat Leader through Assumption’s retreat program since 2005. Angela is an advocate for adapted sports and supports the SOKY programs. In recent years at Assumption she launched a complete Strength and Conditioning Athletic Program 2019 including yoga, started a school Mascot Team in 2017, and played an instrumental role in the addition of an Indoor Softball Facility.
Each Year the Kentucky High School Athletic Director Association is proud to recognize individuals who are leaders in interscholastic athletics in Kentucky. We recognize those leaders with the following awards.

This award is presented to a Kentucky high school coach whose career has distinguished itself as exceptional in coaching accomplishments, community service and other honors/awards.
KHSADA Jim Watkins Award of Excellence
This award is presented to a Kentucky High School Athletic Director who has shown during his/her career, loyalty, dedication, and service to the KHSADA and whose contributions to the profession represents excellence in achievement.
KHSADA / KHSCA Father Harry Jansing Athletic Director of the Year
This award is presented to a Kentucky High School Athletic Director who has made significant contributions within the field of athletic administration, professional advancement, honors, awards, and community service during his/her career.

NIAAA / KHSADA Student Athlete Scholarship
Purpose of Scholarship
In accordance with National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s (NIAAA) and the Kentucky High School Athletic Directors Association’s (KHSADA) purpose to promote, facilitate and increase the knowledge and understanding of the vital role of interscholastic athletics in the educational system, this scholarship program will foster and recognize the partnership between the NIAAA, KHSADA and secondary education. The scholarships will recognize the distinguished scholastic, leadership and sportsmanship attributes of high school student-athletes, and the importance of high school athletics in each student’s life.
